We had an excellent night out in Cardiff on Friday and said goodbye to Afghan Nick for another 3 months.

Several pints of beer were consumed which lead to a Dance off for the title of “Barry Best Dancer”.

Unfortunately it was caught on camera and uploaded to YouTube….Oh dear!

Mixed A v Arches – Win 5-4

Good start to the 2011 season for our Mixed A squad, beating Arches A 5-4 in the subtropical arena of the Jubilee Hall last night. Andy & Rachel took 3 rubbers, the new pairing of Dan and Chris taking 2. Dave and Pat had some very close games and all pairs played well.

Wales v England this Friday 4th Feb will be celebrated in the normal manner at the Ty Newydd pub in Barry.

Wales kick off at 7.45pm, I suggest 7pm for the proper Wales squad for the prematch warmup.

Rumour that Afghan Nick is home on the 27th January so will be messier than ever!

Moderates Change of Venue

The Moderates tournament on the 9th January will now be held at the Sports Wales Centre, Sophia Gardens in Cardiff CF11 9SW.

Due to the increased number of courts there will also be a Singles event.
